At the Sona Shah Heart Foundation, every heartbeat saved begins with the dedication, vision, and compassion of our Board Members. Each brings unique experience and big-hearted leadership to help us heal little hearts and spread endless smiles around the world.

Dr. Prakash Shah,
MD-Ph.D., FACC

Born in Ethiopia and shaped by resilience, Dr. Prakash Shah moved to the U.S. at 15 after surviving civil war. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Chicago and completed his medical degree and cardiology training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. For over twenty years, he has led medical camps in underserved regions, bringing world-class heart care to those who need it most. His passion for service and belief that anyone can help drives our mission forward every day.
A life dedicated to healing beyond borders.

Sona Shah

Born and raised in Mumbai, Sona holds a Master of Arts from Ruia College and has devoted the last two decades to volunteer work. She finds communities in urgent need of medical care and works closely with local leaders and physicians to organize life-saving outreach camps. In Wisconsin and Illinois, she supports families at home while connecting people to our mission abroad. Her vision and dedication help make every heartbeat stronger.

Michael Matrise

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Mike is a trusted financial planner and partner at MPC Advisors in Milwaukee. Known for his strong community spirit, he has backed local causes for years and brings the same commitment to our mission. His financial expertise and belief in giving back ensure that every donation is used wisely to reach the hearts that need it most. Mike’s leadership keeps hope growing for families near and far.

Tom Tousis

Born in Chicago and raised in Racine, Tom Tousis has been a business leader in Southeastern Wisconsin for nearly three decades. As a serial entrepreneur in hospitality, real estate, and professional services, he has driven some of the largest privately funded philanthropic projects in the region. A lifetime member of Kismissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, Tom brings the same giving spirit to our mission — ensuring hope flows from local communities to families around the world.

Sona Shah Heart Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.

Sona Shah Heart Foundation supports community wellbeing through outreach projects such as medical equipment donations, shelter and dignity-building efforts, and future programs designed to improve nutrition, sports access, and local healthcare infrastructure.
